Default 2009 Camaro Suspenion Update

2009 Camaro Front Suspension

Beneath the surface of the new ZETA platform 2009 Camaro is a new linear control suspension system and a variable ratio steering rack. The new steering rack is 10% faster than the previous Commodore in Australia.

Using Chapman struts with progressive coils, individual control arms with two ball joints the front geometry forms a virtual pivot point.

The steering rack is mounted in front of the wheel to maintain Superior geometry. The strut mount is the same part number as the previous generation Commodore.

The new VE (ZETA Commodore / Pontiac G8 / 2009 Camaro) features a multi-link independent rear suspension. Progressive rate coil springs are used in both the front and rear.

The rear coil unit is completely new and uses a unique spring design in that the lower mount is a small eye on to the shock absorber and the upper fixture is a reverse eye -- the diameter grows in the last coil and one half.

It is a much improved version of the GTO architecture. The 2009 Camaro suspension is class leading technology that will compete with vehicles sold at much higher prices. Pedders has already completed our R&D for this chassis. It is capable of running coilovers at all four wheels. We can't wait for this vehicle to arrive in the USA. When it does we will have complete suspension solutions in stock and ready for installation. Actually, we already have parts in stock in the USA for the 2009 Camaro.
